Golf & Activities

With a year round average temperature of around 22ºC, the Costa Blanca is probably one of the perfect places to practice golf on the Mediterranean coast. Dubbed "Spain's Golf Coast" by developers, the Costa Blanca is entering a new phase of growth with a marked increase in golf development.There are already 15 championship courses located between Alicante and La Manga and with 10 more courses due to be developed or already being constructed, this eastern Costa is well on the way to rivalling the Costa del Sol for golf property and golf investment opportunities. Golf Courses near Apartment: 4 golf courses;
Villamartin, Real Club Campoamor, Las Ramblas, all approx 10-15 mins drive.
La Finca at Algorfa, approx 20 mins

Real Club de Golf Campoamor (Recommended)

Campoamor course is located 100 metres above sea level, is bordered to the south by a canal which transfers water from the River Tajo to the River Segura, and there is an abundance of Mediterranean vegetation and other ornamental plants. The 18 holes are laid out in two connected valleys, surrounded by small hills which protect them from the wind. The round is very varied, though the upslopes are not too complicated, and the fairway shots can be very difficult as some greens are on high ground due to the contours of the natural terrain, and are protected by bunkers and exposed to the wind. Only two miles from Villamartin, Campoamor was opened in 1989 and, although not as hazardous as Villamartin, it is the most panoramic of the courses in the region. The expansive fairways, excellent greens and the lakes deceive the player somewhat, making this is a long and testing course with six "dog legs" to keep you on your toes. Campoamor Golf.

Approximately 15 minutes drive from La Cinuelica (towards Villamartin).
Telephone No: (0034) 96 532 1366 Green Fees: €60 per person.

Campo de Golf Las Ramblas de Orihuela

Las Ramblas is really spectacular, elevated tees, narrow fairways and lightning greens. This is a great test of golf and will be a memorable game. Las Ramblas means the old river beds, you will see plenty of these during your round! This 18-holer is on mountainous ground which makes the course very interesting for players who like to take a few risks. As it is very mountainous, it calls for difficult strokes. It is worth mentioning the many trees that surround the course, and the water hazards. There are slopes are all along the course and although some of them are very difficult, they make the game more attractive and interesting. The course is not too long and has wonderful views. Accuracy is required.

Torrevieja

Torrevieja is the capital of the Southern Costa Blanca area and is just 10 mins drive away. It is a medium-size town with a permanent population of 70,000 which swells to an estimated quarter of a million from June to August.

The town centre itself is attractive and is one of the cleanest cities in Europe. Located on the waterfront, it has two marinas, one municipal, one private. The Municipal Marina is surrounded by many restaurants and cafeterias in true Spanish Style. There is also a plan to increase the number of berths by 700 with the new Marina Salinas project. The enlargement of the Torrevieja port will eventually include space for large cruise ships. A submarine that has been retired from the Royal Spanish Navy is on display in the port and can be visited from Wednesday to Saturday.

The Waterfront promenade is a great asset for Torrevieja as very few coastal resorts have anything like it, especially if we are to compare its size with that of other coastal resorts. It also has a market with many stores for tourists and bargain hunters. There are no beaches in central Torrevieja so the promenade is right next to the sea. The beaches are located to the north and south of the town centre. The nearest to the centre is Playa del Cura. This is an attractive inner city beach with excellent safety standards. The next beach to the north is probably the most famous, Playa de los Locos is a long and attractive beach overlooked by many restaurants and bars. It is located along one of the main bus routes into Torrevieja..
